Where have you been all my life? Because it’s the first time I read children’s books that give me an experience I think comparable to the Eurocentric books that I read as a child. This is truly the first time I’ve had. They may have been out there, but maybe I’m not vigorous enough to find them, but I’m glad that I found these with you. Thank you.

Excited over character illustrations and cover of your book. We picked it up tonight”“Ha! Yep that happened! We are still reading it. The girls love it. I do too. I even just love the names of the kids. Representation matters!!

‘Oh hey there’s a girl who looks like me.’ ” Then she flips through the book and finds the page with the picture of the tent and the kids and says ‘Oh cool they have a tent and then she disappears . . . We get inside the house, she takes the book and heads to the balcony. She didn’t even take off her sunglasses.

This is a great book for all kids, because it captures the excitement of exploration and discovery that is part of every great childhood. Terrific for kids to read on their own or for everyone to read aloud together. Highly recommended!
